If you want to actually enjoy your round, don’t bother going here. It doesn’t matter how fast you’re playing, if there’s not a single group behind you for 3 holes, they will hover over you and rush you through. We were on a 3 hour pace of play on hole 14, we hit one bad drive, and an older employee came over, hovered over the ball, and said “you’re gonna have to pick it up if that’s how the whole day is looking.” He then proceeded to follow us for multiple holes, watching every shot we took. If you’re not a scratch golfer at least, you will be harassed. The only reason this is not 1 star is because they do take great care of the course, but I would much rather go play Four Seasons for the same price and actually enjoy my day.

Alright…2nd time playing here and the same experience…rushed. The rangers seem to just drive around all day checking on you. We never once were being pushed from the group behind us (group of 2) and we stayed close to the group in front of us. We were a group of 4, mind you. To make it even better, this time we were on the second shot on the LAST hole of our round and were told to speed it up - I think we were more dumbfounded than anything. No other course any of us have played has ever been so rude and worried solely on pace of play. I understand the importance, but you are a public course in Lancaster County catering to all experience levels; cater better and grow your clientele, Overlook. Even at the turn it was “better hurry up going to the bathroom” from the ranger. I have a great idea, since all the reviews have a similar theme of being harassed by rangers: make your tee times more spread out so people actually want to come back because they enjoyed themselves at your course rather than rush them through and give them a poor experience that leaves them not wanting to come back again. As others have stated, very rude service by the marshal who rushes you through the game. We were playing with 2 other guys and keeping the same exact pace - the marshal talks to them about the good pace they are keeping, then immediately comes over to us and tells us we need to move faster. At the exact same hole as the other guys. Incredibly entitled place. Go somewhere that respects their customers and don’t spend your money here.

My friend booked 2 tee times for Saturday morning for 8 total golfers. One golfer had to cancel very late.My buddy still got charged for the spot. I asked if they can do a raincheck instead, and we would all 8 come back and play again but they would not. I understand there is a policy but there is also a time for doing what is right. They could’ve issued a raincheck, and most courses I have played in my life have worked with you. Especially when you frequent that course often. I mean my friend that booked us plays this course many times a year and even gets out there in the cold winter months. The Course was decent and well kept for the price. Maybe the Gentleman at the pro shop was having a bad morning because the starter agreed with me and even asked over the radio to issue the raincheck to no avail. I wont rule this course out but will rather look elsewhere to spend my money first. This will be an option if we cant find anything else.

Anyone ever have their group told to speed it up when you’re waiting several minutes for each shot bc of the group in front of you? Who ever the old lady is acting as “ranger” needs more knowledge of the game to run that position. Much prefer Four Seasons, Fox Chase and Cool Creek.
